Project 1 Barrel Comp

I’m working on compositing my object, I chose a barrel, into my shot. I got the asset from Quixel and brought it into Maya to animate it rolling through the scene.

I extended my shadow matte to resolve the issue of the shadow ending when the object was on the far right of the screen. It’s not perfect, but you can’t tell once it’s projected onto the object.

I’ve also rendered an ambient occlusion pass to get the ground contact looking more realistic.

I’ve also rendered motion blur and a Z pass to composite depth of field. I want to work with the ground contact a little more to make it more realistic. I also need to clean up the shadow plate a little bit, particularly on the left side of the screen where the shadow gets too dark.
