The idea of a book was brought up in class which immediately made me think of one of my favorite movies, The Shawshank Redemption.

Spoiler: The main character in the film escapes prison with a rock hammer hidden inside a Bible. I thought it’d be cool to do something similar. I would have a shot where the book opens up, revealing the pages cut out with a rock hammer inside. Perhaps the book could be standing up and the hammer falls out with a simple simulation.

I’m still thinking of a way to add something extra that would make this a good piece for my compositing reel. Perhaps some sort of set extension or background DMP to look like a prison or something.

Addendum:

I also have this René Magritte art book that I like. Perhaps I could open it up and have a 3D representation of one of his paintings inside. I think this could work really well considering a lot of his surrealist work deals with perspective in interesting ways.
