We shot some test footage for our live action shots the other day. We think Logan, one of our modeler’s car would be a good fit for Storm Rider’s vehicle. We want to test keying these shots and doing some test comps.

We also shot a few closeups that will require little to no visual effects work. These should be easy to throw into the edit where a little extra intensity is needed.

Some of the shots were filmed in the sun and some under cloud cover. We all agree we like the ones with direct sunlight best.

We’ve also settled on a 2.76:1 aspect ratio. It evokes classic epic films like Ben-Hur and contemporary films harkening back to them like The Creator. Hopefully it will give the films a more unique look. It also has the benefit of reducing render times with fewer vertical pixels.
